West Yellowstone SuperTour

November 28 and 29, 2008

The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association's SuperTour will be one of the highlights of the Yellowstone Ski Festival again this year. The Men's 15K and Women’s 10K Classic races will take place on Friday, November 28^th. The Men's 10K and Women’s 5K Freestyle races will take place on Saturday, November 29^th To register, visit:

Below is a schedule of events for the races inWest Yellowstone. We encourage and reward early registration. Please take the time to register in advance!

SuperTour Registration fees and deadlines:

·        $27.50 for one race/$50 for two races though Friday, November 7

·        $35.00 for one race/$60 for two races though Saturday, November 22

·        Late fee: $10 per race. Late fees will apply to all registrations received after end of day on November 22, 2008.Registration for all races will close at5:00 PM on Tuesday, November 25

 Additional Details:

Age classes: Juniors, Seniors, Masters

 Classic Race Distance: Men:15k, Women:10k, regardless of age. 

Freestyle Race Distance:  Men: 10k, Women 5k, regardless of age

 Seeding will be by USSA rules. 

 Award money for each event: 

 1^st: $875.00
2^nd: $425.00
3^rd: $250.00
4^th: $200.00
5^th: $150.00
6^th: $125.00
7^th: $100.00
8^th: $75.00
9^th: $50.00
10^th: $25.00

 Medals will be awarded to the top three in each class.

Cancellation:  If the SuperTour Races are cancelled by the Chief of Competition on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at noon due to lack of snow or other natural cause, fifty percent of the entry fee will be issued as credit towards the 2009 race.

2008 Altius Handcrafted Firearms Biathlon Sprint Race

Format

This event will be organized following standard IBU rules for the Sprint Race. The Start will be individual at 30 sec intervals.  Distances will be 10km for Men/Junior Men and 7.5km for Women/Junior Women.  A youth category and distance may be offered if there is enough interest and competitors.

Format

This event is open to all interested skiers.  No previous biathlon or shooting experience is necessary. Distances will be 3km for Men/Junior Men and 3km for Women/Junior Women with 2 shooting bouts for all participants.
