9:00 to 10:00PM Beyond Midnight: The Grand Traverse An independent documentary film covering the most extraordinary backcountry ski race in North America. The Elk Mountain Grand Traverse gives competitors, in teams of two, the chance to conquer a grueling 40 mile course from Crested Butte to Aspen, CO. The race starts at midnight and has a total elevation gain of 6,000 vertical feet. "Beyond Midnight" accurately portrays the trials and tribulations racers must face on their way to Aspen. It has been featured in the Taos Mountain Film Festival and is accepted into Mammoth Film Festival as well. Racer and Producer, Andrew Kastning will be on hand for questions following the film. Two Princeton Tec headlamps will be given away.
